A mob of some 400 people, including right-wing activists, on Monday violently rampaged through the Chingrawathi village, apparently after cow carcasses were found strewn in a jungle nearby.

The mob set dozens of vehicles on fire, hurled stones and even fired from guns at the police, who also retaliated with gunfire.

In the ensuing violence, Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, who was probing the 2015 Akhlaq lynching case, and the 20-year-old youth, Sumit Kumar, were killed.

Several videos have since floated online with each suggesting a different and separate theory.

The latest video, that surfaced on Wednesday is believed to have been filmed before Sumit was shot and reveals new details about the killing of Subodh Kumar.

Sumit Kumar, along with some youth, was seen pelting stones on the police. A wild mob is seen running down the street, chanting "maaro, maaro [attack]".

After that, it can be seen, Sumit was shot and taken to hospital by his accomplice, as reported by PTI.

His cousin had earlier informed that Sumit had aspired to become a policeman and had come to the town only 20 days ago to assist his father. Sumit's family has not yet reacted to the video.
