First of all, UPSC stands for Union public service commission and SSC for state service commission. Both UPSC and SSC are the constitutional recruiting body which conducts exam every year at national level.
Both exams are conducted for the reputed post in the government of India for serving the public. But today we will tell what makes in UPSC and SSC so different. so here we go:
UPSC conducts exam for a post of civil servant where SSC conducted exam for the technical and non-technical post.
UPSC only conducts graduate level exam whereas SSC consults both graduate and non-graduate i.e, 12th pass level exam.
Exam procedure: Exams conducted by UPSC has three phases i.e, preliminary, mains and interview. Where preliminary is objective based and its result is a qualification for main similarly mains result will decide you will be eligible for the interview or not.
SSC also conducts exam in three phase: preliminary, main and personality test (interview) but the major difference is in the way of calculation of marks for result i.e, in UPSC the preliminary exam marks were not counted in final result whereas in SSC exams the merit list has resulted on the bases of total marks gained throughout the paper.
There is some minimum qualifying marks difference in UPSC and SSC.
UPSC conducts exam to fulfill the post in grade A and grade B services with success rate from 0.1% to 0.3%. Whereas SSC conducts exam to fulfill the post in grade B and grade C with success rate of 0.001% and 0.003%.
UPSC lacks in transparency and accountability whereas SSC maintains transparency by conducting exam online. Once the result is out the SSC make it public on its official website.
