1) Rani Lakshmi Bai
Lakshmi Bai was the queen of Maratha ruled state of Jhansi. She strongly participated in the 1857 Rebellion movement against British rule. The Britishers demanded the surrender of state of Jhansi but Rani strongly opposes it and instead of surrender she bravely fought against them.
And Martyr for the sake of their motherland.
2) Begum Hazrat Mahal
Better known as "Begum of Awadh". She was also strongly participated in the 1857 rebellion revolt. She was the wife of the Nawab of Awadh "Nawab Wajid Ali Shah", after his death she takes the command of her state in her hands and strongly opposes the rule of East India company. Due to her powerful impacts, the Britishers exiled her.
3) Annie Besant
She was a British Socialist but stand against the British rule. In 1890 She became the president of Theosophical society.
Also, she started Home rule league along with Lokmanya Tilak. She also joined the Indian National Congress and once became it's president.
4) Madam Bhikaji Kama
She belonged to the Parsi community and was a great social worker.
She fought against British rule and she was exiled in Europe until 1935.
5) Kasturba Gandhi
She was the better half of the father of our Nation M.K. Gandhi. She accompanied her husband in all movements.
She motivate the women of Indian society by giving teachings on health, person per hygiene. She helped Gandhi Ji in removing the social backwardness of Indian villagers.
She played an important role at the backstage of freedom struggle.
6) Sarojini Naidu
Popularly known as "Nightingale of India"
She traveled to various places in India and delivered lectures on social welfare, making women aware of freedom struggle and invoking them to participate.
7) Savitri Bai Phule
She was the better half of Bharat Ratna "Jyotiba Phule".With his husband, she worked very hard for the empowerment of Dalits and women. She worked very hard for the education of women and also she opposes the British rule along with his husband.
8) Aruna Asaf Ali
She was well known as Indian Independence activist. She strongly participated in "Salt Satyagraha" she was imprisoned by the British government several times. After independence, the Indian government gave Bharat Ratna Award for her faithful service to our country.
9) Sucheta Kriplani
She was a social activist and worked closely with M.K. Gandhi during partition Riots. She was the member of the drafting committee of constitution assembly. She also sang Vande Mataram in this assembly. She also became C.M. of Uttar Pradesh after Independence.
10) Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit
She was the sister of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru played a crucial role in Indian politics. She was the first woman to become the cabinet Minister. Also, she was the first woman President of the UN General Assembly.
