9 August, Former coach of the Indian cricket team, Gary Kirsten has become the head coach of the Durban Heat for the upcoming season of the Majansi Super League. According to the BBC, there were speculations that 51-year-old Kirsten might become the head coach of the England cricket team, but he joined the South African club.
England's current head coach Trevor Bellis will resign from his post in September. Kirsten was the head coach of the Indian team from 2008 to 2011. It was under his guidance that India won the 2011 World Cup title at home.
Kirsten has also served as the head coach for the Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Kirsten will take over as head coach of South Africa's T20 franchise in November.
