Finally, an online food ordering-delivery service (app) has acknowledged, the Mumbai Dabbawalas, as the original network of food delivery in the city. Now, Swiggy has posted a new video honouring the Mumbai Dabbawalas and this video has gone viral with netizens appreciating the app’s gesture. There also has been a community calling this gesture as a promotional drive, but nonetheless, the Dabbawalas have seemingly got their due from a technology-driven food delivery service. This should potentially account as positive news.
An interesting trivia, at this point in time, is the fact that there is also a website dedicated to the Mumbai Dabbawalas.
Check out below Swiggy’s new video recognizing and even gifting the delivery men raincoats to try and shield from rains:

The above video, also shared on Facebook, also went viral:

Here, it is worth remembering that Swiggy recently asked its patrons and netizens to appreciate the efforts of its delivery partners. Check out this tweet below:
We have all appreciated the food that is delivered to us. It’s time to appreciate the person delivering it. Share your heartwarming stories with Swiggy Delivery Partners and let them know you care. #SwiggyChampionspic.twitter.com/bfq1H2ntt7— Swiggy (@swiggy_in) August 9, 2019
Finally, whatever the scenario, the online food delivery-ordering apps are doing everyone (including themselves a favour) by appreciating the original food delivery people. Don't you think so?
