Sonakshi Sinha on being fat-shamed: I was told you are too big to walk the ramp

Bollywood star Sonashika Sinha is without a doubt one of the most sought after actress in B-town. The diva, who made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan starrer Dabangg in 2010, has flaunted her acting chops in films like Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, Lingaa, Lootera, Mission Mangal among others. However, the diva's journey has never been easy.

Before entering the film industry, the actress went through a major physical transformation, but even today she bears the scars of being fat-shamed when she was young.

In an interview, she opened up on her experiences and said, "I remember something that happened in college. So we had to organise this annual fashion show and I wanted to be this model and walk on the ramp. So one of the thin girls told me, 'You handle the lights'. I said, "Why? I want to walk the ramp." She replied, "No, you are too big to walk the ramp." I just felt really bad. There's so much you want to do when you are growing up. "

She then added, "So who is this girl who happens to tell you that you can't do it just because she is 10 or 20 kilos less than me! I'm very happy with where I have reached."

With what all the diva has achieved in her stellar career, it is fair to say Sonakshi knows how to keep herself motivated!

On the work front, Sonakshi was last seen in Jagan Shakti's Mission Mangal. The film, that also features Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, H. G. Dattatreya and Vikram Gokhale in key roles, was a smashing success on the box-office.

She will be next in the third installment of Dabangg 3, co-starring Salman Khan. The film is set to release on December 20, 2019.
