Maruti plans to launch its 28-year-old SUV in a completely new look. Maruti announced in October 2018 that it would cease production of the Maruti Gypsy from April 2019. At present, services of Maruti Gypsy are still in the Indian Army. At the same time, a report has revealed that Maruti is now going to bring a new car in place of Gypsy.
According to news reports, in March 2020, Maruti may launch a fourth-generation gymnée, replacing the Gypsy. The Maruti Gypsy was also a rebadged version of the first generation Suzuki Jimny. According to Nikki, Maruti Suzuki is developing a new mini SUV on the lines of Jimny Sierra. The new SUV will not only run smoothly on bumpy roads, but will also be very comfortable for daily use.
Jimini was launched in Japan last year and is now selling in many countries. Due to its offers, people are very fond of it. At the same time, it is much more powerful, safe and modern than before. At present, the Jimini is being made in Japan and from there it is exported to other countries. At the same time, when its production starts in India, it will be exported from many countries.
There are reports that the company will manufacture its mini SUV vehicle at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat factory and it will be right hand drive as per international demand. Suzuki is working on its larger wheel base version, which will have five doors and plenty of space to sit inside. At the same time, its long wheelbase version in India can prove to be a big hit. At present, the gymni comes with only three doors, which is not equal to the number of people who like it in India.
On the other hand, Suzuki Gymni comes with two engine options 660 cc three cylinder turbo petrol and 1.5 liter four cylinder K-series petrol engine. The 660 cc engine is very popular in Japan, while the rest of the world is in demand for the 1.5 liter engine. This engine is already being sold in the Ertiga and Ciaz and will soon be launched in the Vitara Brezza. This engine with five speed manual gearbox gives power of 104 Bhp and torque of 138 Nm.
The Jimini launched in India can also be launched with a four speed torque converter. Apart from this, it can also come with a version of four wheel drive. It can be provided with rugged ladder based chassis, airbags, ABS, ESP, power steering, reverse parking sensors, air conditioning and touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play support. At the same time, its price can be kept between five and seven lakh rupees.
