Kerala shocker: Plumbers try to unclog toilet, find 2-day-old baby girl's body flushed down

In what is extremely shocking and tragic news, when authorities set out to investigate a clogged toilet in a Kerala clinic, they found a two-day-old baby girl in it. New Delhi Television reports that her tiny body was recovered when plumbers tried to clear the passage. Dr Abdul Rahman, who runs the clinic, called the plumber when he noticed an obstruction in the toilet bowl. According to the police officials, when the plumbers made an attempt to unclog the pipes, they noticed something that looked like a ball. The baby girl’s body was stuck in the duct, placenta attached and all. The parents allegedly brought the girl in for a consultation and flushed the baby down the toilet. However, another possibility is that since the placenta was still attached, it is highly possible that the mother had delivered the baby inside the washroom.

The police said that they are checking the records of all patients. A case of unnatural death was filed after the doctor filed a complaint. "Investigations are underway. We are analysing the records, but we haven't been able to identify her parents yet," police sources told NDTV. The body of the girl has been sent to Thrissur medical college for postmortem. "There wasn't much of a foul smell emanating from the toilet. The body hadn't decomposed when we recovered it. But the baby's placenta was intact and there was blood inside the commode. Seeing the colour of the blood, the domestic worker mistook it for muddy water," the police said, according to The News Minute.
