Ishqbaaz is all set for a generation leap.

Popular TV show Ishqbaaz is literally taking a leap of faith by wiping out its lead characters Shivaay and Anika, and starting a new love story with Shivaay's son Shivaansh (to be played by Nakuul Mehta) and a new girl Manjiri Pupala in centre.

The show is taking a generation leap which means not only Shivaay and Anika, but other important characters like Gauri, Bhavya, Rudra, Omkara will either disappear or play parents to grown-ups on screen.

The recent development has not gone down well with the dedicated fans of the show who are demanding their Shivika back.

Not only fans, Nakuul Mehta, who'll now be playing Shivaay's son Shivaansh on the show, became emotional on social media, while bidding adieu to his favourite character. He penned an emotional open letter to reminisce about Shivaay and it will make Ishqbaaz fans even sadder.

Few weeks back, Twitter exploded with #NoSurbhiNoIshqbaaz trend. Anika aka Surbhi in her interview poured her heart out about the wrapping up of her character.

"Well, honestly, I haven't read the tweets but a lot of people have been messaging me that such a thing is happening, something even to the effect #NoSurbhiNo Isqbaaz. I understand the sentiments that have caused this. Viewers are very attached to my character," she said.

"I have been a part of Ishqbaaaz for two-and-half years and received so much of love and appreciation from people. It is far more than I would have ever imagined. I am signing off on a contented note. I have no hard feelings. Producer ne bhi kuch socke plan kiya hoga na," she said.
