Flipkart Video is the newest entrant in the already crowded market of video streaming services. It is an offering from Flipkart, one of India’s leading eCommerce platforms and a direct rival to Amazon India. The service is integrated into the main Flipkart app instead of being a stand-alone app.
It is currently reported to be exclusive to Android devices running Flipkart app v6.17 or higher. The latest version can be downloaded and installed via the Google Play Store. Once you have the required version, launch the Flipkart application and tap on the hamburger menu icon (three lines) on the top left corner. It will open a sidebar where you will see a new Video section.
Tapping on Video option will take you to Flipkart Video. It will ask you to choose at least three movies/TV shows of your choice so that you can get personalized recommendations later. The service has three tabs named All, Movies, and Shows. The first tab shows a mix of content and the other two tabs offer content related to their respective names.
It is worth noting that Flipkart does not have its own original content like many of its video streaming rivals. It is currently acting as an aggregator as all of the available content (movies and TV shows) have been accumulated from various services like TVFPlay, Voot, Arre, Viu, and Dice Media. The only difference is that Flipkart is offering all of its collection absolutely free and it also eliminates the need for installing individual streaming apps.
