Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus reportedly unveiled two new smartphones - Zenfone Max M2 and Zenfone Max Pro M2 - in Russia. As we know, Asus has geared up to announce Zenfone Max Pro M2 in India on December 11.
A GSMArena report has it that Asus Zenfone Max M2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. It houses 8MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies. It packs in a 4,000mAh battery. It sports a 6.3-inch 720p featuring a notch and 19:9 aspect ratio.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, on the other hand, is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, Adreno 512 GPU for graphics and 4GB of RAM. It sports a 6.3-inch 1080p screen whereas on the back, you’d find 12MP + 5MP rear shooters.
Both the handsets are reportedly up for grabs in Russia. Asus Zenfone Max M2 starts at RUB 12,990 (Rs 13,860) while Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 starts at RUB 17,990 (Rs 19,190).
Asus’ Zenfone Max series has always been about smartphones with bigger batteries. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 has a 5,000mAh battery under the hood. Once Asus launches the Max Pro M2 in the market, the M1 is likely to stop retailing in the market.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 earned a fairly good presence in India due to its competitive price and nearly-identical specs to the redmi Note 5 Pro’s. One of the main reasons was Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro’s consistent unavailability due to flash sales.
