The Maharashtra government has passed a resolution asking Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to appoint Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray as an MLC, at a time when elections to the council have been postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Uddhav Thackeray is currently not a member of the state assembly and needs to become one within six months of taking office, which he did in November.
